Florida Ready to Work is a new employee credentialing program that tests – and scores – job skills and work habits. It gives jobseekers a competitive edge – a credential that proves to employers that they have the right skills and the right attitude for the job. For employers, it takes the guesswork out of hiring, saving time and money. Florida Ready to Work is sponsored by the state of Florida, so there is no cost for employers or jobseekers to participate in the program.

South Florida Career Institute is working in conjunction with the Florida Department of Education, to utilize the WorkKeys online software application to provide and develop individual workplace job skill levels.

In addition to developing specific job skills, the Florida Department of Education introduces the Florida Ready to Work Credential. Students/Jobseekers who become "Work Ready" will receive proof of their workplace skills that will also be available to potential employers.

This credential will show that through the Florida Ready to Work program, a student/jobseeker has developed the skills necessary to enter the workforce as a trainable and skilled employee
